Biographies

James E. O'Brien is a counselor to business owners, management and directors, often as a member of a team including management, accounting personnel and other advisors.  Mr. O'Brien has repeatedly been named a Super Lawyer and a Leading American Attorney in Privately Held Business Law.  He has more than 30 years of experience in business law, including extensive experience in supervising business litigation.  He has represented many businesses in various industries.

Mr. O'Brien is the former Chair and Chief Executive Officer at Moss & Barnett.  His business management experience as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer helps him understand the concerns and objectives of the owners and executives of his clients.  He has been AV rated for 30 years which, per Martindale Hubbell, is the highest possible peer review rating in both legal ability and ethical standards.  He also has been awarded in 2011 the Martindale Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent which rating is considered by Martindale Hubbell to be the pinnacle of professional excellence in both legal ability and ethical standards, earned through a strenuous Peer Review Rating Process.  He has served as chair of an association of law firms across the United States and has been selected to Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in American Finance and Industry.  He is an honor graduate of the Russian language program of the Presidio of Monterey and was a Russian linguist in the United States Air Force Security Service.  He served in Alaska after training at the Presidio and at the NSA in Washington, D.C.
