Mark B. Peterson practices primarily in the areas of business law and real estate.  He counsels management with respect to corporate governance issues, business mergers and acquisitions, contracts, real estate and leasing, employment, licensing and other legal matters.  He represents clients engaged in diverse business activities including manufacturing, retail, construction products, property development, medical devices, analytical and testing laboratories, aircraft services, transportation and entertainment.  Mr. Peterson also works with a national wireless communications company advising it on the development and leasing of cellular communications sites.

Mr. Peterson's work as a business lawyer draws upon his prior experience in litigation during the first 15 years of his practice.  Mr. Peterson has represented clients in complex commercial and securities litigation, as well as products liability, environmental and construction-related matters, in various state and federal courts throughout the United States.  He has also represented clients in contested matters before AAA, NASD and MSRB arbitration panels and state administrative agencies.  In 1992-1993, Mr. Peterson was one of the principal attorneys in Growe v. Emison, 507 U.S. 25 (1993), involving the redistricting of legislative and congressional districts in Minnesota, which was ultimately argued before the United State Supreme Court.  His previous litigation experience gives him a practical perspective during business negotiations and contributes to his proficiency in drafting transactional documents for his clients.

In addition to his valuable litigation background, Mr. Peterson's clients benefit from his experience in managing a services business as he was previously a founding shareholder and president of Plunkett, Schwartz, Peterson, P.A., for five years.

Mr. Peterson is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
